Bobcat Men's Tennis Team Heads West to Face Gonzaga, Eastern Washington

Second weekend of competition follows two weeks of practice
Montana State begins one of its most difficult non-conference weekends Saturday, when the Bobcat men's tennis team faces regional power Gonzaga at 1 pm in Spokane.
The Cats, who also play at Eastern Washington on Sunday at 1 pm, capitalized on the two weeks between the season openers at BYU and Utah, head coach Jared Burnham said. "We had some good practices and I think the guys have a good gauge on where they need to improve. The competition we face early is strong, but that's what we need to get ready for conference play."
MSU enters weekend play with a slightly reconfigured lineup. Alex Flink plays at the top ladder spot, with Rok Sitar at No. 2 and Kasper Parlklo playing No. 3 singles. Burnham said Adrian Torrico, who slides into the No. 4 spot, has shown solid improvement. Joaquin Espinoza plays No. 5 Saturday, while Mateus Ceolin as at No. 6.
This weekend launches the Cats into the meat of their schedule. The team plays every weekend through the end of March, although the team remains a month away from its home opening weekend March 2-3 against Montana and Idaho.
