Bobcats Finish Fifth at Utah Invitational

A tough skiing day for the Bobcats resulted in just three racers completing the slalom on the final day of the Utah Invitational at Utah Olympic Park.
Montana State junior Justine Lamontagne placed sixth overall in a two-run time of 1:23.29. The product of Mont Sainte-Anne, Quebec was 25th after the opening run but rattled off the fastest clocking in the second run to move up 19 spots. Ylva Falksete also produced points for MSU, placing 11th in 1:24.48.
Sophomore Mackenzie Greenslade was one of five skiers disqualified in the second run, while Tea Kiesel was one of six participants who did not finish the first run.
Denver's Sara Rask won the slalom event in 1:20.82.
Gianluca Boehm was the only Bobcat men's skier to post a mark in slalom. The junior from Samedan, Switzerland finished ninth with a two-run total of 1:23.59.

Colorado's Filip Wahlqvist captured the men's slalom title in 1:21.30.
Utah ran away with the team title finishing the eight events with 757 points. The Utes were followed by Colorado 569, Denver, 534.5, Alaska Anchorage 452.5, MSU 410, Alaska Fairbanks 217.5, Nevada 189.5, Westminster 162, and Colorado Mountain 86.
