Casselman Paces Cats at UAA Invitational

Casselman posted a two-run total of 1:31.93, finishing just .51-seconds behind Colorado’s Jacob Dilling. Casselman recorded the second fastest opening run in 46.43.
After a 45-day hiatus, the University of Alaska Anchorage Invitational saw the alpine portion of the meet begin with giant slalom at Alyeska Ski Resort on Wednesday afternoon. Montana State standout Jamie Casselman paced the Bobcat men's contingent finishing runner-up in the event.
Casselman posted a two-run total of 1:31.93, finishing just .51-seconds behind Colorado's Jacob Dilling. Casselman recorded the second fastest opening run in 46.43.
MSU's Gianluca Boehm also registered a top 10 finish, placing eighth overall in 1:32.84. Boehm recorded the fastest time in the second run with a clocking of 45.05. Tanner Perkins also scored points for the Bobcats finishing 13th in 1:33.89.
Isak Staurset and Luc Dalton did not finish their first runs.
The MSU women were led by Tea Kiesel, who placed ninth with a two-run total of 1:32.24. Also, scoring for the Bobcats was Mackenzie Greenslade, who finished 25th in 1:36.35.
Keely Cashman returned to the RMISA circuit for MSU and notched the second fastest opening run in 44.83, however, was unable to complete her second run. Ylva Falksete did not finish her second run, as well.
Colorado's Magdalena Luczak won the women's giant slalom in 1:29.46.
With just the slalom races left on Friday, Utah sits atop the team standings with 509.5 points. The Utes are followed by Colorado 481, Denver 450.5, MSU 341, UAA 320, Alaska Fairbanks 231, Westminster 93, Nevada 91, and Colorado Mountain 71.
The Bobcats men's alpine contingent finished third in giant slalom with 79 points, finishing just behind CU 96, and Utah 79.5.
