Kiesel Sixth in Slalom on Final Day of UAA Invitational

A product of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Kiesel posted the fourth fastest opening run en route to a two-run clocking of 1:35.64.
Montana State freshman Tea Kiesel placed sixth in slalom on the final day of the Alaska Anchorage Invitational on Friday afternoon. The UAA Invite began with Nordic events on Jan. 2.
A product of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Kiesel posted the fourth fastest opening run en route to a two-run clocking of 1:35.64. Denver's Sara Rask captured the women's slalom in 1:33.51.
Also, scoring points for MSU were Ylva Falksete, 11th, 1:37.21, and Mackenzie Greenslade, 20th, 1:40.69.
The Bobcat men were led by Jamie Casselman, who placed 12th with a two-run total of 1:30.67. Tanner Perkins, 17th, 1:31.26, and Gianluca Boehm, 23rd, 1:32.33 also produced points for the Cats. Perkins recorded the fifth fastest clocking in the second run at 45.41.
Colorado's Filip Wahlqvist took the men's slalom in 1:29.22.
CU won the UAA Invitational with 664 points. The Buffaloes were followed by Utah 642.5, Denver 593, MSU 447, UAA 447, Alaska Fairbanks 231, Nevada 191.5, Westminster 166, and Colorado Mountain 131.
Both MSU alpine and Nordic squads conclude action at the 76th Annual RMISA Championships this afternoon in Anchorage and Girdwood, Alaska.
