Alpine Squad Lifts Bobcats to Fourth Place Finish

Kiesel, a product of Lake Tahoe, Calif., recorded a two-run total of 1:46:62. She had the second fastest opening run in 50.30.
Freshman Tia Kiesel posted a second place showing in slalom and the Montana State women finished with the second highest point total as a unit to lift the Bobcats to a fourth-place finish at its own MSU Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at Bridger Bowl.
Kiesel, a product of Lake Tahoe, Calif., recorded a two-run total of 1:46:62. She had the second fastest opening run in 50.30. Also, scoring points for the Bobcats were Justine Lamontagne, eighth, 1:47.40, and Ylva Falksete, 13th, 1:47:73. Freshman Mackenzie Greenslade finished 22nd in 1:52:13, but clocked the third fastest second run in 54.38.
Denver's Sara Rask won the women's slalom title in 1:45:22.
Gianluca Boehm paced the MSU men's team finishing fifth overall with a two-run total of 1:44:15. Also producing points was Jamie Casselman, who placed 12th in 1:44.38.
Colorado's Filip Wahlqvist captured the men's slalom event in 1:42:28.
Utah won the MSU Invitational with 713 points. The Utes were followed by Colorado 617, Denver 606, MSU 472, Alaska Anchorage 470, Westminster 220, Nevada 179, Alaska Fairbanks 148, and Colorado Mountain 100.
The Bobcat alpine squad will complete the Utah Invitational this weekend in Park City, while the Nordic contingent finishes the Denver Invite in Minturn, Colo.
