Lamontagne 5th in Alpine Qualifier; Pryce Guides Nordic Squad at DU Invite

Lamontagne, a junior from Mont Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada, finished fifth in giant slalom posting a two-run total of 2:08.22.
The Montana State ski team competed in two separate states and races on Saturday afternoon. Justine Lamontagne paced the MSU alpine team at the RMISA Qualifier at Olympic Park, while Anna Pryce posted the Bobcat Nordic squads top finish in the 7.5 classic at Maloit Park.
Lamontagne, a junior from Mont Sainte-Anne, Quebec, Canada, finished fifth in giant slalom posting a two-run total of 2:08.22. The RMISA Qualifiers do not count in team scores but do give individual racers points towards NCAA qualification.
Other Bobcats recording times were Ylva Falksete, 15th, 2:11.86, and Mackenzie Greenslade, 19th, 2:13.70. MSU's Tea Kiesel did not finish her first run. Colorado Louison Accambray won the event in 2:04.85.
Gianluca Boehm led the Montana State men's squad in giant slalom finishing ninth in 2:04.86. He was followed by Jamie Casselman, 13th, 2:05.37, and Isak Staurset, 16th, 2:05.52. Luc Dalton did not finish his second run.
Louis Fausa of Colorado won the men's giant slalom in 2:03.44.
Pryce, a senior from Canmore, Alberta, Canada, fished eighth in the 7.5K classic covering the course in 26:54.9. The classic was the third event of the Denver Invitational.
Also, scoring points for the Bobcats were Morgan Richter, 11th, 28:05.7, and Delaney Jackson, 17th, 29:09.0.
Rosie Whittington-Evans, 18th, 29:14.5, Sabine Comeau, 19th, 29:50.8, and Maeve MacLeod, 24th, 31:313, crossed the finish line for the Bobcats.
Utah's Erica Laven won the 7.5K classic title in 24:55.8.
Gavin Galyardt paced the MSU men's contingent finishing 15th overall in 24:10.9. He was followed by Phineas Fischer, 18th, 24:56.1, Joel Power, 20th, 25:02.2, and Jack Conde, 21st, 25:59.0.
Colorado's Johannes Flaaten won the race in 22:13.7.
With just Sunday's Nordic freestyle pursuit remaining, Colorado is atop the team standings with 562 points. The Buffaloes are followed by Utah 476, Denver 454.5, MSU 310, Alaska Anchorage 210, Westminster 191.5, Nevada 165.5, Colorado Mountain 133.5, Alaska Fairbanks 102, and Wyoming 78.
