Destiny Nkeonye, Nicola Paletti, and Tamia Ramos set for final home meet this afternoon
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- A trio of Bobcat track & field athletes are set to compete in their final home meet when Montana State hosts the Big Sky Tuner on Thursday afternoon at the Kennedy-Stark Athletic Center.
Destiny Nkeonye, Nicola Paletti, and Tamia Ramos are all set to exhaust their collegiate eligibility following the indoor season and are gearing up for their final postseason in Blue and Gold. The three Bobcats have contributed a combined three Big Sky Conference titles, six All-Big Sky honors, 10 scoring performances at the Big Sky Championships, seven program all-time top-10 marks, and 20 event wins while competing for the Bobcats as they leave behind a legacy of success at Montana State University.
Nkeonye arrived in Bozeman by way of Houston Christian at the start of the 2023-24 season and made an immediate impact, winning the triple jump at the Bobcat PReview in his Montana State debut. That victory marked one of 10 combined wins in the long jump and triple jump during his Bobcat career so far. A three-time All-Big Sky honoree and a six-time point-scorer at the Big Sky Championships, Nkeonye was the 2024 indoor silver medalist in the triple jump and earned a pair of bronze medals outdoors in the long jump and triple jump later that season. The native of Bolzano, Italy, holds the No. 3 long jump and triple jump marks in program history outdoors, as well as the No. 5 long jump mark indoors. Nkeonye is set to graduate from Montana State this summer with a master's degree in Sport and Coaching Sciences.
Also a native of Bolzano, Italy, Paletti also joined the Bobcats out of Incarnate Word during the 2023-24 season and has contributed a trio of conference championship-winning marks for the Cats during his time in Bozeman. A three-time Big Sky champion in the multis, Paletti swept the 2024 conference heptathlon and decathlon titles during his first season in Bozeman and added a second gold medal in the heptathlon during the 2025 indoor campaign. He has four scoring performances at the conference championships and three All-Big Sky honors to his name while also holding the No. 3 indoor heptathlon and No. 9 outdoor high jump marks in Montana State history. Paletti is pursuing a master's degree in exercise physiology & nutrition at Montana State.
2025 Big Sky outdoor triple jump champion and three-time All-Big Sky honoree Tamia Ramos arrived in Bozeman from Sacramento State in the fall of 2025 and immediately etched her name in Montana State history. In her Montana State debut at the Bobcat PReview, the University Place, Wash., native leaped to ninth in program history indoors with an event win in the triple jump and improved to second in the record books with a personal-best mark of 12.49 meters/40 feet, 11.75 inches at the Bobcat Challenge in January. She also holds Montana State's No. 6 indoor long jump mark thanks to a jump of 5.86m/19-2.75 at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational. Ramos has three event wins in four meets and counting as a Bobcat and will seek to add to her three podium finishes at the Big Sky Championships in Pocatello, Idaho, next week. Ramos is taking post-baccalaureate courses in Psychology at Montana State.
The Bobcat trio will have one more opportunity to compete in Bozeman this afternoon as they gear up for the Big Sky Indoor Championships, which will be hosted by Idaho State at the ICCU Dome on Feb. 26-28. At today's Big Sky Tuner, Nkeonye will compete in the long jump, Paletti is entered in the shot put and 800-meter run, and Ramos is set for the long jump and triple jump. From there, they will look to leave their marks one last time as the Bobcats seek a strong team result in Pocatello.
