Bryan Shepherd, who spent time on the Syracuse and North Dakota State coaching staffs before arriving at Montana State in 2022, begins his fifth season with the Cats in 2025 and his first as defensive pass game coordinator and safeties/nickels coach. He previously was defensive backs assistant at MSU in 2022 before coaching corners in 2023-24. Shepherd was a quality control coach with the Orange from 2018-21, helping Syracuse to the 2018 Camping World Bowl. Previously he coached cornerbacks at North Dakota State in 2017 after one season there as a defensive assistant. The 2015 NDSU graduate played with Montreal of the CFL in 2014 after spending time with the Washington Commanders. He played at Nebraska-Omaha in 2009-10 before finishing his playing career at NDSU (2011-13).
