Tom Nguyen joined Bobcat Athletics as a graduate assistant for strength and conditioning in August 2024 after graduating from Washington State University, where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in exercise science. Nguyen has a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification. While at WSU, Nguyen interned under the Washington State Football Strength and Conditioning staff from 2021-2024 and was a part-time personal trainer at the University Recreational Gym. Ngyuen also worked with Catapult GPS to monitor player loads during practices and on-field training sessions, worked with Hawkins Dynamic Force Plates to measure force output, quantify player fatigue levels, and training improvements, ran the warmups for the team’s training sessions, as well as led groups of athletes through various field drills, and movements inside the weight room. Nguyen worked as the Head Intern for the program where he coordinated with 10 interns to make training sessions flow smoothly.
