Grizzlies win 4-3 in Bozeman
Ignacio Tejerina earned a three-set win at No. 5 singles to give Montana a 4-3 men's tennis victory over Montana State in Bozeman on Friday.
Montana won the last three singles matches after the Bobcats grabbed a 3-1 lead. MSU won the doubles point, then the team's lone senior Kellen Bates from Kalispell snagged a victory at No. 1 to open singles play. Rok Sitar pushed the Cats to a 3-1 lead with a victory at No. 2.
"It was a tough match," said Bobcat coach Jared Burnham, "and definitely disappointing to lose. I thought we competed better today. We'll have to regroup for another important match tomorrow."
Montana State hosts Weber State at 10 am. A Bobcat victory qualifies MSU for the Big Sky Tournament next week.
