Bobcat Men Meet Sacramento State in First-Round of Big Sky Conference Tournament

No. 6 Montana State will face No. 3 Sacramento State, Thursday at 9 a.m. (MST) at the Phoenix Tennis Center in Arizona.
With a 5-2 victory over Weber State last Saturday in the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center, the Montana State men's tennis team clinched the final spot in this week's Big Sky Conference Tournament. No. 6 Montana State will face No. 3 Sacramento State, Thursday at 9 a.m. (MST) at the Phoenix Tennis Center in Arizona.
The other first-round match has No. 4 Montana meeting No. 5 Idaho State. Winners will advance to the semifinals against either No. 1 Northern Arizona or No. 2 Idaho on Friday. The championship match will be played on Saturday at 10 a.m.
MSU enters Thursday's matchup with a 7-14 overall mark and a 6-5 league slate. The Hornets are 12-11 overall and 8-3 in Big Sky play.
Earlier this month, Sacramento State handed the Bobcats a 5-2 setback in Bozeman on April 8. MSU's two points came at No. 2 singles where Adrian Torrico defeated Dom Miller 6-2, 6-3, and at No. 4 singles as Alexander Flink dispatched Louis Chabut 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (7-5).
Montana State has been paced this season by senior Kellen Bates. The product of Kalispell posted a 4-7 mark at the top singles spot and is coming off his best weekend of the season posting victories over Montana and Weber State. Rok Sitar and Torrico own MSU's top singles marks with ten and nine wins, respectively.
In doubles, two of MSU's top three pairings registered winning records during the regular-season. Flink and Sitar at No. 1 were 6-4 in Big Sky matches, while Dylan Harvala and Kasper Parlklo posted a 7-2 league mark.
