Bobcats, Griz in Clash for Team Title at Battle at Old Works

Montana State and Montana sit in a tight race for a team title through 36 holes following play on Monday, Sept. 27, at the fourth annual Battle at Old Works
ANACONDA, Mont. – Montana State and Montana sit in a tight race for a team title through 36 holes following play on Monday, Sept. 27, at the fourth annual Battle at Old Works at Old Works Golf Club.
The Bobcats (611) are just two strokes ahead of the Griz (613) in the competition with 18 holes remaining. MSU shot rounds of 304 and 307 on Monday, while Montana completed a first-round 306 and second-round 307. Eastern Washington (628) and Idaho State (640) are third and fourth, respectively, in the team standings.
MSU's Kameryn Basye leads the individual competition after firing back-to-back rounds of 1-under-par 71 and is at 2-under 142. She's six strokes ahead of current runner-up Patricia Joyce of Montana. Basye benefitted from an eagle on the par 4, 362-yard hole nine, during the second round. She also paces the field with eight birdies.
Joining Basye in the Bobcat scoring lineup were Hannah Rosanova, Bailey Anderson, Jordan Briggs and Cora Rosanova. Hannah Rosanova recorded consecutive rounds of 76 and her 8-over 152 has her in third overall. Anderson is tied for ninth with 157 strokes (78-79), Briggs is tied for 18th (83-81) and Cora Rosanova is tied for 23rd overall (79-88).
The Bobcats also had four individuals playing outside the MSU lineup. Lucia Prieto Romano carded a 159 (81-78) and is tied for 12th. Sofia Rodriguez Todd (82-83-165) is in 21st, Annika Danenhauer (83-85-168) is in 25th place and Hailey Oster (83-90-173) is tied for 28th overall.
Montana State and the tournament field returns to close things at the Battle at Old Works on Tuesday. Shotgun start for the final round of play is set for 8:30 a.m.
