Pryce Posts Top Ten Finish at Utah Invite

Pryce, MSU’s top finisher in the event, recorded a top 10 showing for the 17th time in her career at Montana State.
Montana State senior Anna Pryce finished tenth overall in the 15K freestyle at the University of Utah Invitational, Sunday morning at Soldier Hollow. The product of Canmore, Alberta, Canada covered the course in 40:57.1.
Pryce, MSU's top finisher in the event, recorded a top 10 showing for the 17th time in her career at Montana State.
Utah's Erica Laven won the event in 39:30.0.
Also, producing points for MSU were Katey Houser, 11th, 40:57.8, and Morgan Richter, 22nd, 42:54.5.
Other Bobcat finishers included Rose Whittington-Evans, 24th, 43:20.7, Maeve MacLeod, 28th, 44:24.3, and Kate Oldham, 32nd, 50:39.0.
Gavin Galyardt, a sophomore from McCall, Idaho, paced the Bobcats men's team, finishing 15th in 36:04.4. He was followed in MSU's top three by Grey Barbier, 20th, 36:41.2, and Jack Conde, 24th, 37:36.6.
Denver's Andreas Kirkeng won the men's freestyle title in 34:49.5.
Other MSU finishers included Phineas Fischer, 27th, 38:07.1, and Joel Power, 29th, 39.29.0.
After the Nordic portion of the Utah Invitational, the host Utes sit atop the team standings with 389 points. They are followed by DU 331.5, Colorado 299, Alaska Anchorage 227, Alaska Fairbanks 217.5, and MSU 207.
The alpine events take place Feb. 8-9 at Utah Olympic Park in Park City.
