Bobcat Men Place Two in Top Five at RMISA Championships

Jamie Casselman and Gianluca Boehm finished third and fifth, respectively, as the 76th Annual RMISA Championships opened with giant slalom at Alyeska Ski Resort, Thursday afternoon.

Casselman, who rattled off the second fastest opening run posted a two-run time of 1:23.49, while Boehm, who had the second fastest second run, finished in 1:23.93. Tanner Perkins completed MSU's scoring placing 16th in 1:24.87.
The Bobcat trio accounted for 80 points, the third highest total in the event behind Colorado 88, and Utah 81. CU's Louis Fausa captured the RMISA giant slalom title in 1:23.22.
MSU's Isak Staurset and Luc Dalton did not finish the first run.
Tea Kiesel guided the Montana State women placing ninth with a two-run clocking of 1:31.07. Also, scoring points for the Bobcats were Mackenzie Greenslade, 13th, 1:32.32, and Ylva Falksete, 17th, 1:33.51. Keely Cashman did not finish the first run.
CU's Magdalena Luczak won the women's giant slalom crown in 1:26.96.
After the opening day, Utah sits atop the team standings with 178 points. The Utes are followed by CU 146, MSU 137, Alaska Anchorage 103, Denver 100, Westminster 87, Nevada 77, and Colorado Mountain College 56.
Alpine teams will take a one-day break from the RMISA Championships to complete the UAA Invitational in slalom on Friday. The Nordic portion of the RMISA meet begins with the 7.5K classic on Friday morning at Kincaid Park in Anchorage.
