Bobcat Women Face Daunting 2025-26 Slate

“Iron sharpens iron,” said Binford, who enters her 21st season at the helm of the Bobcat program.
The Montana State women's basketball team faces eight teams that recorded 20 or more wins; nine programs that competed in postseason play; and four schools that won either a regular season, conference tournament title, or both as part of its 2025-26 schedule, announced Ellen Kreighbaum Women's Head Basketball Coach Tricia Binford on Monday afternoon.
"Iron sharpens iron," said Binford, who enters her 21st season at the helm of the Bobcat program. "Our preseason schedules are always designed to prepare us for the Big Sky Conference and postseason play. This schedule is lined up with programs that know how to win and that's exactly the environment we want to be in. We want to be challenged. Champion habits are built through champion caliber competition."
Following an exhibition game against Bushnell on Oct. 30, the Bobcats begin the season in earnest hosting Frontier Conference power Carroll College as one of four home non-conference contests. Other non-league games include Minot State (Nov. 11), UNLV (Nov. 18), and North Dakota (Dec. 6). The game against former rival UND is part of the Big Sky/Summit League Challenge.
Montana State faces a daunting non-conference road slate that begins at Portland (Nov. 7). Last season, the Pilots went 31-5 overall and won a regular season West Coast Conference title. MSU plays at Troy in Alabama (Nov. 24) before facing Big XII foe Colorado in Boulder (Nov. 30).
The Bobcats open December at North Dakota State (Dec. 3) to tip-off the Big Sky/Summit League Challenge. MSU travels to Oregon (Dec. 14), before taking part in the Maui Classic in Hawai'i against Oregon State (Dec. 19) and Hawai'i (Dec. 20).
Montana State opens Big Sky play at Northern Colorado (Jan. 1) before hosting Eastern Washington (Jan. 8) in its first league home contest in Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. The annual Cat-Griz showdowns will be in Bozeman (Jan. 17) and Missoula (Feb. 14).
