Women's Tennis Concludes Fall Slate at Bobcat Invitational

BOZEMAN, Mont. - The Montana State women's tennis team concluded its fall slate at home with three successful days of play at the Bobcat Invitational.

"There was such great competition this weekend against three really solid teams," head coach Hailey Barrett said. I am so proud of how we competed all the way through each match on every court. We have a lot of motivation and some things to work on over these next couple months, and we are excited to get back to competing in January."

On Friday, all three Bobcat doubles pairs earned victories with the Bean sisters having another successful outing. Claire Brown partnered with Naomi Jin for her first win at MSU. Angel Bean, Terezie Stverakova, Lola Bean, and Stela Sifuentes all earned straight-set singles wins, while Mia Tombari picked up a three set victory.

Saturday's morning match with Wyoming brought a challenge for the Bobcats, with just three MSU players coming away with wins. After losing the first set, Angel Bean came back in a 2-6, 6-2, 10-6 win over Eugenia Ceinos. Naomi Jin also dropped her first set, but eventually defeated Antonella Taco Villarreal 0-6, 6-3, 10-8. Lola House earned a straight-set win over Ivona Ridan, finishing at 7-6 (8-6), 6-0.

Stverakova and House earned their second doubles win on the weekend, downing a Bengal duo 6-2 on court No. 2. Stela Sifuentes was the sole Bobcat to take a singles win on Sunday afternoon, downing Idaho State's Macy Richards 6-1, 6-2.

Montana State is set to return to the court in January to kick off the spring season.
