Bobcats Open 2026 NCAA Ski Championships on Wednesday

BOZEMAN, Mont. (March 10, 2026) – A full squad of six men and six women head to Utah this week to represent Montana State at the 2026 NCAA Ski Championships.
MSU is one of seven teams to enter a full squad of 12 athletes in the championships. Beginning Wednesday, a total of 22 teams begin competition for the 2026 NCAA Championships. Alpine events are held Wednesday and Friday at the Olympic Park in Park City, Utah, while the Nordic events run Thursday and Saturday at Soldier Hollow in Midway, Utah.

Montana State Alpine – Men
Gianluca Böhm, sr, Samedan, Switzerland: 2026 All-RMISA Honorable Mention… three top 10 finishes in GS this season. Full bio.
Torius Hepsoe, fr, Oslo, Norway: 2026 All-RMISA Honorable Mention… finished 7th in GS at Utah, 5th in slalom at Nevada. Full bio.
Will Steed, fr, Edmonton, Alberta: Two top 10 finishes in slalom, including 5th at the RMISA Qualifier at Bridger Bowl. Full bio.

Tea Kiesel, so, Lake Tahoe, Nevada: 2026 All-RMISA Second Team… one DNF in slalom, but finished in the top 10 in every other race… 3rd at the Qualifier at Bridger Bowl and 4th at Utah… finished 3rd in the GS at Nevada. Full bio.

Grey Barbier, so, Steamboat Springs, Colorado: Missed two early meets while competing for U.S. at World Junior Championships… second NCAA Championships… three top 10 in classic races – 9th at Colorado, 10th at Denver – which is considered his stronger race… lauded by the coaches for "great balance of joy and focus." Simon Chappaz, gr, LaClusaz, France: 2026 All-RMISA Second Team… two top 5 finishes in freestyle – 2nd at Colorado and 3rd at Denver – and two top 10s in classic races… expected to contend for podium finishes in both disciplines. Full bio.
Gavin Galyardt, jr, McCall, Idaho: Second NCAA appearance… finished just outside the top 10 throughout 2025 but has four top 10 finishes in '26 in skate races… lauded by the coaches for his focused work ethic and leadership. Full bio.

Felicie Chappaz, gr, LaClusaz, France: First-year grad student at MSU… three top 10 finishes, including two in the freestyle races… finished 7th in the skate race at Denver… lauded for her commitment both academically and in training… also praised for her joyousness… her twin brother Simon also skis at MSU. Katey Houser, sr, Palmer, Alaska: 2026 All-RMISA Second Team… MSU's lone qualifying senior… second NCAA meet… six top 10 finishes, making her MSU's most consistent Nordic performer… three top 5s… finished 6th in the 20K skate race at last year's NCAA Championships hosted by Dartmouth… lauded by the coaches for growth during her time at MSU, developing into one of the top U23 athletes in the US.
