Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season at Cat-Griz Dual/Al Manuel Invitational on Friday

Cats set to compete in two-day meet in Missoula
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- The Montana State track & field program is set to open its outdoor season at the Cat-Griz Dual/Al Manuel Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Missoula, Mont.
The two-day meet features a handful of field events beginning at 1 p.m. on Friday and continues at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Dornblaser Field on the campus of the University of Montana. The women's hammer throwers will kick off the meet on Friday, with Jenavieve Lynch, Sydney Brewster, Sydney Mattfeldt, and Maggie Hillis all set to compete in the event. The women's discus featuring Emma Brensdal, Brewster, and Lynch will open the second day of competition on Saturday, while running events will kick off with the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at 11:15 a.m. Hannah Perrin, Annie Kaul, and Niamh Motley will all compete in the opening running event of the day.

The Competition: Montana State will join competitors from five other Montana schools in Missoula on Friday. The full field includes Carroll College, Dawson Community College, Montana, Montana State, Montana Tech, and Montana Western.
Bobcat Competitors: A total of 66 Bobcats, including 33 from each squad, will make the trip to Missoula this weekend. The men's competitors include Ethan Anderson, Noah Barbery, Eli Boppart, Trystin Chapel, Nash Coley, Billy Cunningham, Jackson Fagerlin, Colby Frokjer, Matt Furdyk, Will Giesen, Jett Grundy, Ryan Harrington, Bob Hartley, Easton Hatleberg, Talon Holmquist, Jordan Lasher, Niko Mann, Chase McGee, Rob McManus, Peyton Nelson, Quinn Newman, Timbur Nilson, Mario Oblad, Ben Parks, AJ Ringert, Ben Saelens, Malikye Simpson, Xavier Simpson, Blaise Snow, Michael Swan, Stryder Todd-Fields, Drake Wilkes, and Preston Wysocki.
The women's squad will consist of Tilde Bjerager, Emma Brensdal, Sydney Brewster, Sabine Brueck, Stella Diaz, Hailey Ells, Clara Fox, Giulia Gandolfi, Peyton Garrison, Samantha Geraets, Libby Hansen, Caroline Hawkes, Maggie Hillis, Millie Hubbell, Annie Kaul, Eva Koos, Olivia Lewis, Jenavieve Lynch, Sydney Mattfeldt, Sophia Miller, Kalei Moravitz, Hannah Perrin, Brooke Reuter, Tatum Richards, Ave Roberts, Iris Rogel, Claire Rutherford, Madi Siana, Kaitlyn Skinner, Jadyn VanDyken, Hailey Watkins, Jaeden Wolff, and Jada Zorn.
Last Time Out: Montana State concluded its indoor season two weeks ago, with Hailey Coey and Sydney Brewster travelling to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championships. Both Bobcats earned Second-Team All-America honors, with Coey placing 11th in the long jump with a mark of 6.24 meters/20 feet, 5.75 inches and Brewster taking 12th in the shot put with a throw of 16.96m/55-7.75. As a team, the Bobcats are coming off a pair of runner-up finishes at the Big Sky Indoor Championships in Pocatello, Idaho, on Feb. 26-28.
Up Next: Montana State is set to compete in eight regular-season meets across five weekends during the outdoor regular season. Following the Cat-Griz Dual/Al Manuel Invitaitonal, the Bobcats will split up between the Stanford Invitational and the San Francisco State-hosted Mike Fanelli Track Classic on April 3-4. The Cats will then return to California two weeks later for a trio of meets, including the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University (April 16-18) and the Pacific Coast Invitational (April 16) and Beach Invitational (April 17-18) at Long Beach State University. The Bobcats will head to Pocatello, Idaho, for the Bengal Invitational on May 1-2 before concluding the regular season at home, hosting the Tom Gage Classic on May 8.
The Big Sky Outdoor Championships in Portland, Ore., will open the postseason on May 13-16, with the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville, Ark., (May 27-30) and the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., (June 10-13) set to wrap up the 2025-26 campaign.
