Bobcats to honor 19 seniors during regular-season finale
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- Montana State track & field is set to conclude its regular season at home on Friday, hosting the Tom Gage Classic at the Bobcat Track & Field Complex in Bozeman.
The one-day meet is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. with the women's pole vault featuring Libby Hansen. Running events will begin at 2:30 p.m., with Harvey Cramb, Rob McManus, Niko Mann, Blaise Snow, Ryan Harrington, AJ Ringert, Eli Boppart, and Ben Saelens all representing the Bobcats in the men's 1,500-meter run.
Following the meet, Montana State's 19 seniors will be recognized for their achievements while competing in Blue and Gold, with Friday marking their final home meet as Bobcats. Those seniors include Noah Barbery, Matt Furdyk, Giulia Gandolfi, Peyton Garrison, Tyler Gilman, Libby Hansen, Bob Hartley, Caroline Hawkes, Talon Holmquist, Jenavieve Lynch, Sydney Mattfeldt, Rob McManus, Hannah Perrin, Ben Saelens, Xavier Simpson, Michael Swan, Stryder Todd-Fields, Jaeden Wolff, and Jada Zorn.
Live results from the Tom Gage Classic are available here. The meet will not be live streamed.
"The coaching staff and athletic administration are very excited to host our only home outdoor track & field meet of the season," Dale Kennedy Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Lyle Weese said. "While we are looking forward to honoring our seniors who are finishing up their eligibility, we certainly are going to miss this group that has accomplished so much and done so much for the team.
"The meet will have different approaches by event area. The sprints and jumps will be competing a few athletes but largely won't be competing en masse as they prepare for conference next week. The throwers will be a full-go and going for big marks. Similarly, the distance athletes will also have everyone competing in either an 800 or 1,500-meter race."
The Competition: Ten track & field programs are set to compete in the Tom Gage Classic on Friday, most of which are from the state of Montana. The Bobcats will be joined by Black Hills State, Carroll College, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State-Billings, Montana Tech, Montana Western, the University of Providence, and Rocky Mountain College at the Bobcat Track & Field Complex this week.
