Jason Carrey serves as the Assistant Director of Compliance for the Montana State Athletic Department, a role he began in September 2025. In this position, Carrey oversees compliance efforts for all Bobcat sports, ensuring coaches, staff, and student-athletes follow NCAA and Big Sky Conference rules and regulations. His responsibilities include managing initial eligibility for freshmen and transfers, monitoring recruiting and CARA logs, coordinating donation requests, and drafting student-athlete waivers, providing comprehensive assistance of the department’s compliance operations.

Before joining Montana State, Carrey gained extensive experience in collegiate athletics, serving as Director of Compliance at the University of Akron from 2023 to 2025 and as a Compliance Intern at Sacramento State from 2022 to 2023. He also worked in professional sports during college, with positions at the Kansas City Chiefs and the Omaha Storm Chasers.

A native of Sacramento, California, Carrey earned his bachelor’s degree in Sport Management from the University of Kansas in 2022 and is currently pursuing an MBA from the University of Akron, with graduation expected in Fall 2026.

Jason resides in downtown Bozeman.
