Lucas Bergert began working for Montana State University in November of 2014 and currently serves as the Director of Technical Operations. He works primarily with sports facilities in several functions.
In his role, Bergert directs and manages various audio, video, communication information technology infrastructure and associated equipment at Brick Breeden Fieldhouse, Shroyer Gym and Bobcat Stadium during events. He also serves as a main contact working directly with Broadway shows and concert promoters in advancing technical, logistical, catering, custodial, concession merchandise and logistical requirements necessary for shows in facilities. His sport duties include overseeing technical operations for volleyball, track and field, basketball and football.
Bergert previously earned a degree in aircraft maintenance technology from the Community College of the Air Force, a bachelor's degree in professional aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master's in information technology management from Trident University.
Bergert served in several roles in the Air Force before retiring. He worked as an aircraft maintenance hydraulic specialist, space and missile operations officer and associate professor of aerospace studies while being stationed over time in Texas, Georgia, Arizona, Alabama, California and North Dakota. He was deployed for operations in 1995 and 2012. While as a professor at Montana State in 2013, he earned an Excellence in Teaching Award from the College of Engineering.
Bergert is married to his wife, Nicole, and the two have two teenage daughters, Mikayla and Ariel. Bergert is a certified firefighter and rescue intervention team member.
