Nicolas Jean-Baptiste has established himself as one of the top defensive line coaches in the FCS during his six seasons at Montana State, producing four All-Americas and a handful of players earning all-conference accolades. Jean-Baptiste joined the Bobcats in 2022 as assistant defensive line coach, took over responsibility for tackles in 2023, when he formed a productive group of interior linemen anchored by third-year starters Sebastian Valdez, a two-time All-Big Sky choice (1st team in 2022, 2nd team in 2023) and Blake Schmidt. Jean-Baptiste became defensive line coach in 2025, mentoring All-Americas Kenneth Eiden IV (end) and Paul Brott (tackle). He earned 2nd Team All-Big 12 honors at Baylor, and spent time with the Baltimore Ravens in 2012 and the Cleveland Browns in 2013. He has coached at every level of college football during his brief career.
