Montana State scored the first points of the game, but it was all Oregon State from that point on as the Beavers recorded an 83-53 victory over the Bobcats, Sunday afternoon in Gill Coliseum.
Montana State's (1-1) Ashley Albert connected on a three-pointer to open the game, but Oregon State (2-0) responded with a 12-0 run and never looked backed.
“We were on the defensive the whole game,” said MSU head coach Tricia Binford. “We struggled being physical and that is something we need to work on. We turned the ball over too many times.”
Rachel Semansky led four Bobcats in double-figures with 12 points. Also in double-digits were Katie Bussey 11, and Albert and Kalli Durham with 10, apiece.
For the game, MSU shot 32 percent from the field, while OSU hit at a 51 percent clip. The Beavers also held a narrow 43-39 advantage under the boards. Montana State was paced under the glass by Albert with a game-high eight rebounds.
OSU was led by Earlysia Marchbanks and Ali Gibson with 21 points each.
MSU will host UM Western on Thursday night in Shroyer Gym.
