Sixth-seeded MSU plays at third-seeded Portland State
Montana State heads west this weekend, facing Portland State in the first round of the 2012 Big Sky Conference Tournament. Tipoff is 8 pm MT in the Peter W. Stott Center on the PSU campus Saturday. The Bobcats enjoyed a successful trip to the Park Blocks earlier this season, topping the Vikings 70-65 on January 26. Xavier Blount and Shawn Reid each scored 15 for the Bobcats, while Reid grabbed eight rebounds. MSU shot 46.6% from the floor and 43.8% from three-point range, forcing 17 Vikings turnovers while committing just nine. The Bobcats shot 53.4%, the team's second-best mark of the conference season, in MSU's 86-73 win over PSU on December 30 in Bozeman. Blount scored 24 points to lead the Bobcats that night, while Christian Moon added 21.
