HEAD COACH KYLE WEINDEL ON THE IDAHO STATE MATCH
Idaho State out-hit the Montana State volleyball team .234 to .129 and held a 14-9 advantage in blocking as the Bengals posted a 25-20, 25-19, 25-21 win over the Bobcats, Friday night in Reed Gym.
"As a group we played extremely well," said MSU second-year head coach Kyle Weindel. "We passed better than we have in our last few matches. Hats off to Idaho State. They really had to work to beat us and they played an extremely efficient match. I thought we did a nice job not giving up a lot of points. We played very efficient, but they were just that much better."
Freshman Kennadie Clute guided Montana State (2-14, 0-5) with 14 kills, while Natalee Godfrey added eight kills, five blocks and hit .353 from the field. Defensively, Nicole Baker posted 11 digs and two aces. Freshman setter Anna Sykora dished out 33 assists.
"Hopefully, tomorrow we can get everyone in sync," Weindel said.
MSU will play at Weber State in Ogden, Utah on Saturday night.
