“After a slow start we finally played up to expectations,” MSU Head Coach Kyle Weindel said. “For the program to change win or lose we need to compete on every ball and make it as hard as possible on our opponents to win."
Idaho got out to a quick start and fended off a Bobcat rally in the third game to post a straight set 25-10, 24-13, 25-21 win over Montana State, Friday night in Memorial Gym.
The Vandals hit .424 from the field, while holding the Bobcats to .152. In addition, Idaho held advantages in kills, assists, aces, digs and blocks.
MSU was led by Kennadie Clute, Loni Kreun and Natalee Godfrey with seven kills, apiece. Defensively, the Bobcats were paced by Kreun with 16 digs, while Kasey Schlatter added 15 saves. Freshman Jolie Meade led Montana State at the net with three blocks.

"That's what we did in the third set," Weindel added. "I was pleased with that effort and expect it to continue in to next weekend."
The Vandals were guided by Katelyn Peterson with 11 kills and a .370 attack mark.
