Bobcat Spikers Host Senior Night on Thursday with Weber State

The Bobcats will celebrate its two seniors on Thursday night as Kasey Schlatter and Zoe Gogan finish their careers in the Blue and Gold.
BOBCAT SPIKERS TO CELEBRATE SENIOR NIGHT:
Mathematically eliminated from Big Sky Conference postseason play, the Montana State volleyball team will conclude its 2014 campaign when it celebrates 'Senior Night' on Thursday, Nov. 13 hosting Weber State at 7 p.m. in Shroyer Gym. The Bobcats will finish its season at intra-state rival University of Montana on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in Missoula.
'CAT CHAT:
The Bobcats will celebrate its two seniors on Thursday night as Kasey Schlatter and Zoe Gogan finish their careers in the Blue and Gold. Last Thursday at North Dakota, Schlatter became just the eighth member of MSU's prestigious 1,000 dig club...in the same match at UND, Gogan unfortunately suffered a season-ending knee injury in the opening set...Montana State fans are encouraged to bring canned foods to the Weber State/Montana State match as part of the 15th annual 'Can the Griz' contest - an off-field competition between MSU and the University of Montana to see which community can collect the most donations for their local food banks. Fans will receive $5 game ticket to Thursday's match for their donation...MSU dropped a pair of Big Sky road matches last weekend, losing at North Dakota 25-20, 25-22, 25-14 and Northern Colorado 25-16, 25-21, 25-14.
SCOUTING WEBER STATE & MONTANA:
Weber State (7-22, 3-11) With the new system of North/South divisions in Big Sky volleyball, the Bobcats and Weber State will meet just once this season, that being Thursday night in Shroyer Gym. Last fall, the Bobcats swept the Wildcats. MSU currently holds a slim 34-32 advantage in the all-time series dating back to the 1979 season. WSU is led this season by Audrey Biggs, who averages 4.28 kills and 4.44 points per set - both are the best marks in the Big Sky Conference this season. Last weekend, the Wildcats split a pair of matches, defeated Sacramento State 3-2, before falling to Portland State 3-0...Montana (6-20, 6-8) defeated MSU earlier this season in a come-from-behind 3-2 win. UM is paced by Claire McCown at 2.57 kills per set.
BITS AND PIECES:
Freshman Jolie Meade, a native of Rocklin, California, is second on the Bobcat squad hitting .308 from the field. Meade has been ranked among the top 125 hitters in the nation in terms of attack percentage and has been ranked among the top 15 freshmen in the category, as well...In Big Sky Conference action, Kennadie Clute is ranked third in the league, averaging 3.64 kills per set and is seventh in points at 3.82 pps...Natalee Godfrey ranks third in Big Sky hitting percentage at .361...setter Katie Harrington is fifth in the league averaging 10.85 assists per set...libero Kasey Schlatter is sixth in the Big Sky at 4.35 dpg.
NOTICING NATALEE:
Junior middle blocker Natalee Godfrey has bounced back nicely from an early season injury to post an outstanding October. In fact, Godfrey committed just 23 hitting errors in her last 180 swings. For the month of October, the Eugene, Oregon product averaged 2.89 kills per set, while hitting a whopping .401 from the field. Godfrey had a season-high 16 kills against Eastern Washington, two weeks ago.
KILLING IT:
For the month of October, sophomore Kennadie Clute led MSU with 103 kills, averaging 3.81 per set.
DIGGING IT:
Kasey Schlatter is first on the team averaging 4.04 digs per contest. The Canby, Oregon native has totaled 360 saves this fall, including being in double-digit digs in 22 of MSU's 26 matches. Schlatter posted a career-high 36 saves against Canisius on Sept. 5. That mark was two shy of the all-time Bobcat record of 38 held by Kandice Kelly and Meghan Albiston. For her career, Schlatter has logged 1,024 digs, which is eighth on the all-time Montana State digs list.
