“Through a lot of adversity we played incredibly tough,” MSU Head Coach Kyle Weindel said. “It was great to see how we competed and battled. It was the same thing we’ve seen the last couple weeks. We’re playing hard and playing close with teams.”
Despite playing without its leading kills leader, the Montana State volleyball team put in a valiant effort against Big Sky Northern Division-leading North Dakota , but eventually dropped a 25-20, 25-22, 25-14 decision to UND, Thursday night in the Betty Englestad Center.
Sophomore Kennadie Clute, who leads the Bobcats in kills and points, suffered a leg injury on Wednesday, and if that wasn't enough her replacement Zoe Gogan went down with a knee injury midway through the opening set against North Dakota.

Junior middle blocker Natalee Godfrey continued her stellar season with a match-high 13 kills, while hitting .458 from the field. Outside hitter Eli Svisco also hit double-digits with 11 kills. Defensively, Montana State (5-20, 2-11) was led by Kasey Schlatter with 11 digs. The senior from Canby, Oregon also went over the 1,000-dig plateau, becoming just the ninth Bobcat in history to reach the milestone.
"Eli, in just her fourth match since moving to the left-side, is scoring a ton of points," Weindel said. "And, Natalee has been has been off the charts and is as good as any middle in the conference right now and is carrying a huge offensive load for us."
North Dakota (22-8, 10-3) out-hit MSU .354 to .191 and held advantages in kills, digs and blocks. UND was led in the win by Lexi Robinson with 11 kills and ten digs.
Montana State will play at Northern Colorado on Saturday night.
