“Jolie had a fantastic match,” Weindel said. “She hit at a high rate, and as these players mature, I really like what is happening and the options it’s giving us at a lot of different positions.”
Northern Colorado out-hit Montana State .375 to .175 and held a 52-36 advantage in kills as the Bears posted a 25-16, 25-21, 25- 14 win over the Bobcats, Saturday night in Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.
Montana State (5-21, 2-12) got on track offensively in the opening set, hitting .324 from the field, but couldn't match Northern Colorado's (17-9, 10-4) firepower that saw the Bears hit at a .667 clip.
"We played incredibly tough and were able to get Kennadie (Clute) back in, although not a 100-percent," MSU Head Coach Kyle Weindel said. "We played hard in the first set, hitting very well. We were doing a lot of really good things. Northern Colorado hit almost a .700 and as flawless as you can play, so credit to those guys for playing hard at this time of the year. They're playing for a No. 1 or 2 seed in our division."
Clute, who leads MSU in kills, sat out MSU's match at North Dakota with a leg injury. Against UNC, she recorded seven kills.
Freshman Jolie Meade guided the Bobcats with eight kills and a .571 attack mark, while middle blocker Natalee Godfrey also connected on eight kills. Defensively, Montana State was led by Kasey Schlatter and Kasey Altman with 14 and 12 digs, respectively.

Northern Colorado was paced by Brianna Strong and Kendra Cunningham 10 kills, each.
MSU will close out the regular-season hosting Weber State on Thursday night, before traveling to Montana on Saturday.
