Perennial regional power Boise State swept the Montana State women's tennis team 7-0, Saturday afternoon at the Bobcat-Anderson Tennis Center.
Despite dropping the opening double point, MSU's top duo of Laura Middel and Naomi Holopainen recorded a 6-2 win for Montana State's lone victory.
In singles action, the Broncos won all six ladder positions in straight sets.
"Boise State is the toughest team we have faced this year," said MSU head coach Jon Reeves. "It was a good learning experience for all of us to see how we stack up, and to recognize where we have improved since seeing them at the fall regionals.
"We have come a long way in improving our games and in our level of fitness," Reeves said. "We have to stay on course and continue to put in the work physically and mentally. Boise State, at this time, is a deeper team and they make really sound tennis decisions in their play. We are excited to have them on our schedule for home and away. Down the road this is going to be a fun rivalry."
Montana State will host Northern Colorado and Sacramento State next Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
