Montana State Golf Completes Play at Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

Jaylee Tait earns the Bobcats' top score of the third round as the Bobcat wrap up action in Maricopa
MARICOPA, Ariz. – Four Bobcats shot in the 70s as the Montana State women's golf team wrapped up its final 18 holes of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic Friday, April 7, at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
MSU junior Jaylee Tait improved each round during the tournament and carded a 3-over-par 75 Friday, the best third round score by a Bobcat. Senior Janelle Reali followed her with a 4-over 76 and finished in a tie for 16th overall with 223 strokes.
Tait and freshman Kelly Hooper both tied for 70th, with Hooper wrapping up play by firing a 79 in the third round for a tournament score of 236.
Freshmen Delaney Elliott and Coral Schulz also completed action at the Southern Dunes Golf Club. Elliott notched a final-round 77 for a total 239, good for a tie for 80th. Schulz finished with an 81 Friday and 248 overall.
The Bobcats placed 16th in the team standings with a team score of 929 (307-315-307), three strokes shy of Utah Valley and CSU Northridge.
Montana State has two days off from competition before its final regular season tournament. The Bobcats host 14 other universities in the Bobcat Desert Invitational over a span of two days beginning on Monday, April 10, at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz. The meet field will participate in two 18-hole rounds on Monday and follow that with a third round on Tuesday. Both days of play begin with shotgun starts at approximately 8:45 a.m. MDT.
