Cats Host South Dakota in Big Sky-Summit League Challenge

Although hard to believe, Montana State and South Dakota will be meeting for the first time, Wednesday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. in Worthington Arena as the Big Sky Conference/Summit League Challenge tips off.

The Bobcats conclude play in the challenge at Oral Roberts, Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. (MT) in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE BOBCATS: Montana State is 6-1 overall after winning a pair of games at the UNLV Thanksgiving Classic, last week. The Bobcats opened play with a 62-56 win over East Carolina of the American Athletic Conference. Senior Esmeralda Morales led four MSU players in double figures with 15 points. The Bobcats finished the classic with a 76-68 victory over UCF of the Big XII. The win was MSU's first over a Power-4 school since defeating Clemson 58-52 on Nov. 23, 2012, at the Hoops for a Cure Classic in Dallas. Marah Dykstra paced the Bobcats against the Knights with 21 points, connecting on seven-of-14 attempts.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE COYOTES: South Dakota is 3-5 overall after splitting a pair of contests in Nashville, Tenn., last week. The Coyotes defeated Dayton 79-69, before dropping a 95-88 decision to Arizona State. On the season, USD has been led by Grace Larkins, a 5-foot-9 senior guard from Altoona, Iowa, who averages 25.3 points per game. Larkins is coming off a 30-point performance against Arizona State. Carrie Eighmey, who spent the 2023-24 campaign as the head coach at Idaho, is in her first season on the Vermillion, S.D., campus.
