Bobcat grad transfer Kavya Khirwar put MSU up 2-0, opening singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mylavarapu.
Montana State captured the opening doubles point and swept all six singles matches in straight sets en route to its fourth consecutive win, a 7-0 decision over Northern Iowa on Saturday morning at Good Health and Fitness.
Montana State's (5-3) Marta Garcia-Reboredo and Hudson Hawkins opened the contest taking a 6-0 decision at No. 2 doubles over Northern Iowa's (1-6) Kim Zizek and Andjela Raznatovic. MSU's No. 3 tandem of Nia Gelashvili and Angel Bean clinched the doubles point with a 6-1 win over Kanyanut Sudsaard and Laysa Mylavarapu.
Bobcat grad transfer Kavya Khirwar put MSU up 2-0, opening singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Mylavarapu. Bean followed at No. 4, posting a 6-1, 6-0 win over Raznatovic, before Gelashvili clinched the match for the Bobcats at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-2 decision over Zizek. Nos. 1, 2, and 5 singles all went to Montana State by identical 6-3, 6-2 victories.
Montana State faces Denver, Friday, Feb. 21 in the Mile High City.
