Women's Basketball Ends Exhibition Slate with Dominant Win

Bozeman, Mont. – Rounding out a weekend full of Bobcat success, the Montana State women's basketball team handily defeated South Dakota Mines in Sunday's exhibition match with a final score of 100-37.

All but one of Montana State's roster made an appearance on the court and 10 Bobcats contributed to the team's triple digit scoring total. Brianne Bailey was at the top of the stats sheet with 19 points, including three three-point shots. Big Sky preseason MVP Taylee Chirrick was close behind with 17 points, and Jamison Philip, Teagan Erickson, and Ebele Mbagwu accounted for 10-plus points each.

As is customary for the Cats, the defensive performance was just as dominant, causing 40 turnovers, 10 blocks, and 22 steals. Bailey and Chirrick each had four steals, while Bailey's two blocks were the team high. Preseason all-conference selection Addison Harris led the Bobcats' rebounding efforts with four offensive and three defensive boards.

The Bobcats will open non-conference play in Bozeman on Monday, Nov. 2, hosting Black Hills State in the annual school day. The regular season will continue at home with Portland on Nov. 8. 2026-26 season and single game tickets are on sale now.
