BOZEMAN, Mont. (Feb. 25, 2026) – Montana State hosts the 2026 Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) Championships this weekend, competing against schools from across the western U.S. in two different states.
The Bobcat alpine team competes in three races at Bridger Bowl Feb. 26-28, while the MSU Nordic squad hosts cross country races at Soldier Hollow in Midway, Utah Feb. 27-28. Competing schools include MSU, Alaska Anchorage, Alaska Fairbanks, Colorado, Colorado Mountain College, Denver, Nevada, Utah and Westminster.
A pair of alpine women finished the regular season strong, vaulting up the NCAA Qualification Points List. Justine LaMontagne stands tied for seventh in the Giant Slalom and tied for 19th in the Slalom entering the weekend, while Tea Kiesel is fifth in the Slalom and tied for seventh in the Giant Slalom. Lily Sewell is tied for 16th in the Giant Slalom and 21st in the Slalom.
On the men's side, Gianluca Boehm is ninth in the Giant Slalom and 20th in the Slalom. Torius Hepsoee stands tied for 10th in the GS and 16th in the Slalom, while Loic Spiegelberg is 14th in the GS and 17th in the Slalom. Bosse Mikelsson is 13th in the Slalom and 33rd in the Giant Slalom.
"We hope to win our portion of the regional championships," said MSU Alpine coach Kris Shampeny. "The team has been ramping up their performances and skiing in the past couple of weeks. They are really starting to put two runs together and it is exciting to see as we get closer to the NCAA Championships."
Katey Houser, Felicie Chappaz and Maeve MacLeod have finished the regular season strong in both Nordic disciplines on the women's side. Simon Chappaz, Grey Barbier and Gavin Galyardt lead the way for the men's team.
"We're skiing well right now," said Bobcat Nordic coach Adam St. Pierre. "We have a full team qualified for the NCAA Championships so this week will be about competing for a regional championship and solidify our standing for the NCAAs."
