Hailey Coey, Sydney Brewster Set for NCAA Indoor Championships

Coey competes in long jump on Friday, Brewster in shot put on Saturday
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- Montana State senior Hailey Coey and junior Sydney Brewster are set to take part in the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the campus of the University of Arkansas this Friday and Saturday, March 13-14.
Coey will compete in the long jump at 3:45 p.m. MT on Friday, and Brewster will wrap up competition for the Bobcats in the shot put at 1:45 p.m. MT on Saturday. Both Bobcats qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships by earning a top-16 qualifying mark nationally in their respective events during the 2025-26 indoor season.
Competitors who finish in the top eight in their respective events at the NCAA Indoor Championships will earn First-Team All-America honors, while the No. 9 through 16 finishers will be named Second-Team All-Americans.

"Sydney Brewster and Hailey Coey have had amazing seasons and have so much momentum heading into the NCAA Championships," Dale Kennedy Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Lyle Weese said. "These incredible student-athletes have certainly earned this opportunity and have the ability to compete well against the elite competition of the NCAA Championships. Coach Jennifer Allen and Coach Olivia Lane have done an incredible job helping Sydney and Hailey get to an elite level. We are fortunate to have great coaches who are able to help student-athletes get to this level."
The Competition: Coey and Brewster will compete among the 16-athlete fields in their respective events this weekend. Coey enters the weekend ranked eighth in the long jump while Brewster checks in at No. 13 in the shot put. Montana State is one of 84 women's teams expected to have competitors in the field in Fayetteville.
Bobcat Competitors: Coey seeks to close out her indoor season with another strong performance on Friday after taking home the Big Sky Conference title in the long jump with a school and conference record-breaking mark of 6.53 meters/21 feet, 5.25 inches. Coey was named the meet's Women's Most Outstanding Performer thanks to the result, capping off a string of five-straight long jump victories to enter the NCAA Championships undefeated. She was a three-time Big Sky Women's Field Athlete of the Week honoree this season, breaking her own school and conference records three times.
Brewster will also look to build on her gold medal-winning performance at the Big Sky Championships when she competes in Arkansas on Saturday. In seven meets this season, she shattered her own school record four times, including topping the Big Sky Conference record with a mark of 17.25m/56-7.25 at the Big Sky Tuner. She is undefeated in seven shot put competitions in 2025-26 and earned two Big Sky Women's Field Athlete of the Week honors during the regular season.
Last Time Out: Coey and Brewster brought home two of seven Bobcat gold medals at the Big Sky Indoor Championships in Pocatello, Idaho, on Feb. 26-28 as Montana State finished runner-up on both the women's and men's side. Coey (long jump), Brewster (shot put), Easton Hatleberg (shot put), Caroline Hawkes (400m, Tatum Richards (pole vault), Jenavieve Lynch (weight throw), and the 4x400-meter relay team of Peyton Garrison, Tilde Bjerager, Giulia Gandolfi, and Hawkes all took home titles in their respective events, while the Cats earned 18 total All-Big Sky honors by finishing on the podium in Pocatello. In total, the Cats tallied 48 scoring performances in a successful championship weekend.
Up Next: The NCAA Indoor Championships will mark the conclusion of the indoor track & field season for the Bobcats. Montana State opens its outdoor season in Missoula, Mont., on March 27-28, competing in the Cat-Griz Dual/Al Manuel Invitational on the campus of the University of Montana.
