MSU remains in a battle for top seed in Big Sky Tournament
BOZEMAN, Mont. (March 1, 2026) – Montana State head coach Tricia Binford faces her team's regular season finale on Monday with a familiar theme in mind.
"We're still looking to improve," the Bobcats' 21st-year head coach said as her team prepares to close the regular season against Northern Arizona in Worthington Arena on Monday. "This team has worked hard, and it's found ways to win. But its best basketball is still out there, and that's what we're chasing."
The team's goals are still in reach, also, but the Cats need help. A Montana State win on Monday, coupled with an Idaho loss to Eastern Washington, gives MSU a share of the Big Sky regular season championship. Regardless of Monday's results, though, the Bobcats enter next week's Big Sky Conference Tournament as a top-two seed.
Montana State carries a 22-6 overall record, 15-2 in Big Sky play, into the regular season's final game. The Bobcats have won six straight games, and the team's win total is among the program's five best during the regular season in program history.
Northern Arizona is 10-20 under first-year head coach Laura Dinkins. Naomi White leads the Lumberjacks with 20.7 points er game, while Madison Watts chips in 10.5 points a game with a team-high 7.1 boards.
Monday's game begins at 7 pm and streams on ESPN+. Daniel Salle broadcasts the game on the Bobcat Radio Network around the Treasure State and on the Varsity app.
