BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State women's tennis head coach Hailey Barrett announced the signing of two additional players, completing the roster for the upcoming season. The Bobcats will welcome junior transfer Claire Brown and incoming freshman Lola House to the team for the 2026-27 school year.
The duo will bring an array of skills and experiences to the MSU program as Barrett and her squad look to improve upon last season's 8-11 record. The Bobcats went 4-4 in Big Sky action, earning a spot in their third consecutive Big Sky Conference tournament.
Brown joins the Bobcats after spending two seasons at Rider University, where she found success in both singles and doubles. Most recently, she advanced to the quarterfinals of the MAAC Masters Individual Tournament in 2025.
"Claire and Lola are two more wonderful additions to our team," Barrett said. "Claire is a tenacious player who will bring experience and strength to Bozeman."
In her freshman year at Rider, Brown helped the Broncos to their first MAAC Championship Tournament appearance in 15 years while picking up six singles and eight doubles wins. Excelling off the court as well, brown was a member of the Rider Dean's List, earned MAAC All-Academic honors, and participated in the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
House makes her way to Montana State from the United Kingdom, where she prepped at Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth, England. She was a captain of the U19s team at Talbot Heath School, which finished fifth in the country.
"Lola is a fantastic competitor who loves to be a part of a team," Barrett said. "They are both going to be fantastic representatives of our program, and I can't wait to welcome them to campus."
House amassed 10 years of experience in the UK, where she was ranked in the top 40 in the U18 division. She was also a member of the county team, which ranked in the top eight in the UK.
Brown and House join graduate transfer Stela Sifuentes and freshman Naomi Jin to complete a group of four incoming Bobcats. The quartet will equal MSU's four returning players, which includes first team All-Big Sky Conference singles selection Angel Bean, senior Elle Middleton, and sophomores Angel Bean and Terezie Stverakova.
"We have built a group of players that we are very excited about," Barrett said. "We are proud of the combination of returners from last year and the four incoming student-athletes. They are all great competitors and strong students. Most importantly, they are looking forward to joining and representing the Bozeman tennis community. This is a group that is capable of big things in the Big Sky and beyond."
