HIGH SCHOOL:
As a senior, Stensgard averaged 17 points per game, including a season-high 31 points…in addition, averaged three rebounds, three assists and three steals per game…is a four-time Metro East All-Conference selection…named first-team all-state…was an all-star team member and Miss Minnesota Basketball candidate…went over the 1,000 point mark scoring 1,469 points for the Spartans…her team appeared in the 2020 State tournament and was headed for the 3rd place game when COVID-19 ended the season…is also a four-year volleyball letterwinner as an outside hitter... was a four-year member of the SHS academic honor roll…National Honor Society member for all four years…played AAU ball for the Minnesota Fury for seven years…the Fury captured the 2019 Minnesota state title…as a junior, averaged 15 points, three rebounds, three assists and 2.5 steals per game.

She is the daughter of Lynette and Mark Stensgard.

"Sydney has a very high basketball IQ as the daughter of a coach. She can really shoot it and has a great feel for the game. She is an unselfish player that makes the right play. In addition, Sydney is an academic student with great character. She'll bring good energy to the program."
