Bobcats Host Former League Rival in Sears Bracket Buster Game Saturday

Idaho visits Fieldhouse for 47th time
Looking to snap an eight-game losing streak, the Bobcats return to the hardwood Saturday, hosting former Big Sky rival Idaho as part of the Sears Bracket Buster series. Montana State and the Vandals last got together during the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons, also reunited by Bracket Buster games, with MSU triumphing in both outings, a 79-69 win in Bozeman and a 72-65 win in Moscow. Since Idaho migrated out of the Big Sky after the 1996 season (the Vandals' last ever basketball game as a Big Sky school was a 91-66 MSU win in the 1996 Big Sky Tournament in Bozeman), the schools have met eight times, with the 'Cats winning six. Third-year head coach Don Verlin, a Stew Morrill protege, has revived the Idaho program, posting a 46-42 record. Jeff Ledbetter 11.8 ppg) and Kyle Barone (10.9 ppg, 6.0 rpg) lead the Vandals this season.
