NAU Chops Down Bobcat Spikers in Straight Sets
10/11/2014 10:40:00 PM | Women's Volleyball
Northern Arizona's Sydney Kemper recorded 11 kills, a .450 attack mark and 12 digs as the Lumberjacks handed Montana State a 26-24, 25-19, 25-13 setback, Saturday night in Flagstaff.
Montana State (4-14, 1-5) was led by Natalee Godfrey with 13 kills and a .500 attack mark, while Kennadie Clute registered 11 kills. Defensively, Kasey Schlatter guided MSU with 16 digs.
"In the first set we played exceptionally well," MSU Head Coach Kyle Weindel said. "We were serving and passing well and out-killed NAU. Then we started to struggle and saw that young, inexperienced team have a hard time scoring points against a really good Northern Arizona team. The bright spot is that we played well defensively and I thought we got a nice effort from Kasey (Schlatter), who was very steady all night."
MSU will play at Eastern Washington and Idaho next weekend.
