“We could not have asked for a better first five minutes,” MSU Head Coach Tricia Binford said. “We established ourselves as the aggressor, got out into transition and played very unselfishly.”
Montana State scored the first nine points of the game and never looked back recording a 74-61 win over Seattle U, Sunday afternoon in front of 1,067 in Worthington Arena.
Junior Lindsay Stockton set the pace for the Bocbats hitting a three-pointer just eight-seconds into the game. Alexa Dawkins converted back-to-back buckets, before a Jackie Elliott jumper forced a Redhawks time out.

Montana State (2-2) built it largest at 48-31 heading into intermission. MSU finished the opening period shooting 54 percent from the field, while connecting on eight-of-14 shots from beyond the arc.
"I think we showed our fans what we're capable of when we have everyone playing their role and to their strengths," Binford said. "We had some early foul trouble, but we had kids come off the bench and knock down shots. We didn't have a drop off in our play."
Seattle (1-3) was never able to get the deficit to single-digits in the final stanza, and the Bobcats took its largest advantage at 72-53 with six-minutes, 28-seconds remaining on a Dawkins layup.

The Redhawks held a 44-40 advantage in rebounding, including a sizeable 17-9 margin on the offensive glass.
"We made better adjustments, defensively, in the second half," Binford said. "We need to do a much better job under the boards."
The Bobcats were led in rebounding by Dawkins and freshman Amy Davis with six and five, respectively.
SU was led by Taelor Ross with 15 points and four rebounds.
