Philippova Continues Win Streak; T-Birds Ground Cats

Also registering a point for the Bobcats was freshman Sarah Cheverie, who recorded a come-from-behind 4-6, 7-6, 10-7 win over SUU’s Daniela Cozzi at No. 5 singles. Three of the six singles matches went the distance.
Montana State senior Angelina Philippova ran her winning streak to seven consecutive matches with a straight set victory over Southern Utah's Zoe Tanti, but it wasn't enough as the Bobcat women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision on Saturday morning at Thunderbird Courts.
Philippova, a native of Astrakhan, Russia, remained undefeated in Big Sky Conference action with a 6-0 mark. She is 9-5 overall and 8-2 in her last ten outings after dispatching Tanti 6-2, 6-1. Philippova moved up to the No. 2 singles spot on the ladder against the T-Birds.
