The Montana State women's golf team heads into its fourth tournament of the fall portion of its schedule on Monday when the Bobcats begin play at the NMSU Aggie Invitational. The tournament field tees off at the New Mexico State University Golf Course in Las Cruces on Monday for the first of three rounds of golf that will take place over three days.
"We're looking forward to heading south to Las Cruces and getting the chance to compete in a great field and play a great course," Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said.
This week's highlight event for MSU's main lineup of golfers will differ significantly from the recent Battle at Old Works in Anaconda. The New Mexico State-hosted event features 20 teams from a variety of different conferences.
Playing in the NMSU Aggie Invite for the Bobcats are Kameryn Basye, Hannah Rosanova, Bailey Anderson, Jordan Briggs and Cora Rosanova. MSU and the other 19 teams in the field will play three 18-hole rounds with a course layout at approximately 6,420 yards.
"I'm once again looking for some consistency from all of our players and I am looking for some lower scores overall to help with the team score," Basye said. "Everyone needs to be contributing and playing their game with no blowups. Hitting fairways and making putts will be a big focus for us."
The remainder of MSU's roster will also be participating in tournament play starting Monday. Annika Danenhauer, Hailey Oster, Lucia Prieto Romano and Sofia Rodriguez Todd are slated to compete in the Griz Invitational which starts Monday at the UM Golf Course
