Camille Chantron and Eddie Biss both win singles, doubles matches
(Feb. 5, 2026) – Montana State continued to exert its strength at the lower ladder positions, competing up and down the lineup before falling 4-3 to regional power BYU in Provo, Utah on Thursday.
The Cats got a preview of the evening in doubles play. The Cats fell at the first and third spots, but sophomores Camille Chantron and Eddie Biss combined to beat BYU's No. 2 team 6-2.
That set the stage for a wild singles competition. Chantron won his second singles match of the season, coming from behind to beat TJ Wells 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4. Then, in short order, BYU clinched the team win when Adam Chodur beat Bobcat junior Andre Stewart 7-6, 7-5 at No. 1, Yubel Ubri topped MSU's Yassin Elaroussy at No. 2 (3-6, 6-3, 6-2) and Tygen Goldammer took a three-set decision from Bobcat Oumar Diallo at No. 3 (6-1, 4-6, 6-3).
Then, MSU again flexed its muscles at the bottom to ladder spots. The Cats now own 6-1 records at No. 5 and No. 6 singles after Ethan Masselis beat BYU's Otto Schreiner 3-6, 6-3, 10-5 in the fifth spot and Eddie Biss won at No. 6 (4-6, 7-5, 9-7).
The Bobcats fall to 3-4 on the season, and play again on Feb. 28 at Portland State in MSU's 2026 Big Sky opener.
