Bobcats Set to Host Yellowstone Intercollegiate

Montana State seeks individual and team title defense at second-annual tournament in Bozeman
BOZEMAN, Mont. --- The Montana State women's golf team will host the second-annual Yellowstone Intercollegiate at Riverside Country Club in Bozeman starting on Monday and continuing through Tuesday.
The Bobcats will tee off in an 8:30 a.m. MT shotgun start on both days, with the tournament including 36 continuous holes on Monday followed by another 18 holes on Tuesday. Montana State will look to defend its team title on the par-72, 6,319-yard Riverside Country Club course, while Eva Heinz will stage a defense of her individual title on the course last year.
"We're really excited to be back home at Riverside and have the opportunity to compete in front of the Bobcat faithful," Montana State head coach Brittany Basye said. "We had a great tournament here last year with Eva winning the individual title and our team bringing home the team title, but this is a new year with a few new faces, and our focus is on what's in front of us.
The standard and expectations remain the same: stay where our feet are, compete on every shot, and play the best golf we can. We have seven players getting the opportunity to tee it up at home against a really good field, and that's exciting for our program. We'd love to see a big Bobcat crowd out at Riverside supporting these ladies and watching some great golf. It's going to be a fun two days, and we're ready to compete. Go Cats!"
The Bobcats will compete against 10 other teams in Bozeman, including four other Big Sky schools. Montana State will welcome conference foes Idaho State, Montana, Southern Utah, and Weber State to the course, while California Baptist, Cal State Northridge, Creighton, North Dakota, North Dakota State, and Tarleton State will round out the 11-team field.
Montana State is coming off a strong performance at the New Mexico-hosted Branch Law Firm/McGuire Invitational on Sept. 14-15, where the Bobcats finished fourth as a team with a 54-hole score of 11-over 875 (288-299-288). Montana State's two rounds of 288 were the Bobcats' best-ever team rounds at the UNM Championship Course, while their tournament score of 875 ranks sixth in program history. Heinz finished runner-up at the tournament for the second-straight year, matching the eighth-lowest individual score in program history with her 6-under 210 (69-73-68), to help the Bobcats earn a top-five finish over strong competition that included Cal State Fullerton, Sacramento State, and Northern Arizona.
All seven Bobcat golfers will compete in their home tournament, with five Cats competing as part of the team lineup and two taking the course individually. Montana State's lineup will be led by defending Yellowstone Intercollegiate champion Heinz, followed by Ashleigh Wilson, Lauren Nau, Norah Seidl, and Sailor Graham. Nadia Sanz Ouezzani and Elvira Flodström will tee off as individuals, with Flodström set for her Bobcat debut.
Montana State's performance at the 2025 Yellowstone Intercollegiate marked a historic victory for the Bobcats, who carded their lowest 54-hole score in program history (16-under 848) to earn their first tournament title since 2002. Montana State dominated the field in their first tournament in Bozeman since 2012, winning the tournament by 15 strokes as five Bobcats finished in the top 10. Heinz finished 9-under 207 to earn her first career medalist honor behind a Big Sky-record round of 62 to open the tournament. Other top-10 finishers for Montana State included Seidl (T-3rd, 3-under 213), Graham (5th, 2-under 214), Maddie Montoya (T-6th, 1-under 215), and Wilson (T-8th, even-par 216).
