Bobcats in Fifth Through Two Rounds at Cougar Cup

The Montana State women’s golf team completed two rounds of the Cougar Cup and sit in fifth place following the first day of action at Palouse Ridge Golf Club on Monday, Sept. 18
PULLMAN, Wash. – The Montana State women's golf team completed two rounds of the Cougar Cup and sit in fifth place following the first day of action at Palouse Ridge Golf Club on Monday, Sept. 18.
Sophomore Kelly Hooper put two consistent rounds together for the Bobcats by wrapping the day up at 6-over-par 150 (74-76). She's followed by sophomore Delaney Elliott who sits in a tie for 17th. Elliott rebounded from her 7-over (79) during the first 18 holes by carding a 1-over (73) in her second round for a 152 total.
Senior Jaylee Tait is third among Bobcats through two rounds with a 153. She fired rounds of 74 and 79 and is tied for 20th overall. Junior Clare Dittemore is tied for 30th with a score of 157 (79-78) and sophomore Coral Schulz is tied for 44th after firing a 161 through 36 holes.
Sophomore Lilly Navarre, who is playing as an individual, played the best round of her collegiate career Monday. Navarre fired a 79 in the first round, but recovered and shot a 2-under-par 70 to cap the day at 149. She's tied for 13th heading into the third round Tuesday.
The Bobcats carded a 611 (306-305) as a team to place two strokes ahead of CSU Fullerton going into the final 18 holes. Host Washington State (574) leads the team competition and is followed by Sacramento State (584), Seattle (603) and Idaho (603).
The final round of the Cougar Cup begins at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Live results can be found on golfstatresults.com.
